ORANGE shooters featured heavily on the podium at the 30th Opal Open at Lightning Ridge on the weekend.
The Orange District Pistol Club members excelled across all the grades over the three-day tournament.
Max Wicks had five podium finishes, including wins in the High Master WA 1500, the masters service 25-yard event and the A grade service unrestricted event.
Wicks also finished second in the C grade 50m pistol and third in the B grade centre fire event.
Lara Cowling won the B grade 10m women’s air pistol event with her score of 351.
She also took out the C grade 25m women’s sport pistol and her score of 541 allowed her to break into B grade.
Cowling was third in the D grade 25m standard pistol event.
Nick Jadezak came back from the event with three gold medals.
He won the C grade 10m junior air pistol, the D grade junior sport pistol and the D grade rapid fire event.
He also had a top 20 result in the D grade 25m standard pistol event.
Michael Jadezak had four top 10 finishes over the weekend, finishing third in the B grade 10m men’s air pistol and fourth in the D grade centre fire.
Jadezak was sixth in the D grade 25m standard pistol and seventh in the D grade rapid fire event.
