Miss Williamson’s son Aiden Williamson-Powrie arrived eight days early to become Orange Base Hospital’s first baby of the new year and new decade.
Miss Williamson was at home on New Year’s Eve with her 16-month-old son Noah when contractions began.
“It was a real surprise,” she said.
“I rang mum at about 11 o’clock at night and said you’d better come and get Noah.”
Aiden was born by caesarean section at 9.57am on New Year’s Day.
“It’s certainly special, but every birth is special,” Miss Williamson said.
“He’s just getting a bit more attention.”
Aiden’s birth was also reported to be the first in the western region for the new year.
Four babies were born in Orange Base Hospital on New Year’s Day.
Miss Williamson and Aiden were visited in hospital by family and friends on New Year’s Day.
“He’ll be very spoilt,” she said.
