Teams played their first two-day matches of the season with Orange City, Gladstone and Metro Force all taking maximum points.
The Gladstone batting was the deciding factor in their win over Cavaliers at Jack Brabham 1.
Gladstone batted first with Garry Cole (108) and Mick Sullivan (135 not out) both posting centuries before the side declared at 7-443.
Solid bowling then had Cavaliers all out for 150 with Scott Lawrence (54) the best with the bat.
Cavaliers were sent in for a second innings and were removed for 170 with only six players picking up the bat.
Lawrence (48) was there again and Mark Thurtell top scored with 58.
Gladstone won by an innings and 123 runs.
A knock of 79 from Rory Jaye helped set up Orange City’s outright win over CYMS at Glenroi Oval.
CYMS made 82 in their first innings before Orange City, led by Jaye, posted 228.
CYMS went back in for a second innings and were all out for 136.
Troy O’Keeffe chimed in with 3-17 from his 6.4 overs.
Orange City won by an innings and 10 runs.
Metro Force scored an outright win over Waratahs at Jack Brabham 2.
Waratahs were all out for 158 in their first innings and the Force then posted 233.
Waratahs were removed for 74 in their second innings for the Force to win by an innings and one run.
In the other second grade games Orange City Warriors scored a 12-run win over Kinross 2 and Centrals claimed first innings points over Metro Wanderers by 32 runs.
In Centenary Cup, it was Kinross versus CYMS in both games and they finished one apiece.
Kinross celebrated a 107-run victory over CYMS Fahys at Kinross Lower Oval.
Kinross made 182 with Douglas Bradley and Bailey Hilder each making 39. Matthew van Schaik took 3-42 for Fahys.
CYMS were then all out for 75. Hilder (3-24) and Tom Rolfe (3-21) claimed three wickets each for Kinross.
CYMS Kellys came out on top against Kinross Young Guns at Sally Kennett Oval.
The Young Guns were all out for 98 with Hugh Britton (28) top scoring. James Croke (3-4), James Connors (3-11) and Dom Maley (2-37) gave the Kinross batsmen a hard time.
In response, CYMS Kellys made 4-161 with Eddie Wright retiring on 62.
