Four women received their completion certificates yesterday after undertaking three units of the Certificate III in Business Administration course through Birrang Enterprise Development.
Project manager Nikita Mason said while the graduates are still looking for work, they have a new-found confidence since finishing their studies.
“The course was extremely successful, we’ll run it again in the future,” she said.
The three-day-a-week course was run over eight weeks with participants studying occupational health and safety processes, organising schedules and writing simple documents.
Participants also completed an Apply First Aid course during their training.
“It builds their confidence to be able to come into a workplace,” Miss Mason said.
“The confidence level in these ladies has skyrocketed through the roof.”
Birrang’s RTO administrator Karina Kiley said the course taught the women many skills they never had before.
“They didn’t even know how to send an email,” she said.
Despite a couple of drop-outs while the course was underway, Miss Kiley said it was successful and there are plans to run another session later in the year.
