Ann Brown who was foundation principal of William Cowper Anglican School in Tamworth from 1998 - 2005, will head up the school which is currently taking enrolments for 2007.
Lessons will start in demountable buildings to be erected on the site currently being developed off Leeds Parade near Charles Sturt University.
Chair of the Anglican School Council, Bruce Henderson said Mrs Brown brought a wealth of educational experience to the new school.
Prior to her years at William Cowper Anglican School, Mrs Brown was head of the junior school at Roseville College in Sydney.
"Creating a new school is an exciting time for students, parents and staff and Mrs Brown's previous successful experience in developing a new school will be a great asset to everyone involved with Orange Anglican Grammar School," said Mr Henderson.
Parents and prospective parents are invited to a public meeting at Holy Trinity Memorial Hall, opposite the Town Square Motel in Anson Street, on Wednesday October 18 at 7.30pm, to meet Mrs Brown.
Enrolment interviews can be arranged by calling the school on 6360 4811.
