FROSTY nights and freezing days have provided some frigid scoring at the Orange and District Pistol Club during the last two weeks.
Overall attendances have been down because of the cold but those attending should be commended for sticking to it.
Weekend results:
Centrefire sports was the match of the day last Saturday and Andrew Bond again won the handicap points.
Andrew shot a 255/300 precision, a 263/300 duelling for off pistol total of 518.
When combined with his handicap of 68 Andrew finished first with 586/600.
Second on handicap was Andrew's father, Roger with 248, 243, 491/600, hc 62 for total 553.
Third was Duncan Lockwood with 220, 240, 460/600, handicap 74 for a total 534. Fourth to Garry McKay 192, 220, 412/600, hc 115, total 527. Other scores: Djuro Cikaric 221, 209, 430, 77 total 507.
Our ever improving young female member Edlyn Lockwood shot 122, 111, 233, 162, total 395. Good improvement Edlyn.
Air results from Wednesday - Brian Johnson 504/600 and Duncan Lockwood 449/600.
Pat McDonald attended for practice and range officer duties.
Air for June 28 saw Rebel Egan put in some practice but she did not record her scores.
Father Michael Egan put in a good performance of 435/600. Duncan Lockwood just scraped in a 500/600 and Brian Johnson put in a 341/400.
June results:
Rapid fire - Andrew Bond broke his handicap in rapid fire with first round score of 243/300 and second round of 182/300, to give a total off pistol of 425/600.
With his handicap of 193 Andrew broke handicap with 618/600.The also-rans in the rapid fire event were Garry McKay second on handicap with 217, 182, hc 173 with a total of 572.
Duncan Lockwood ran third and is trying to get back to or break his previous best score of 469, he scored 217, 216, hc 118, total 551. Darren Hack was third with 135, 72, 235, 442. Other scores: Roger Bond with 147, 91, 188, 426. Djuro Cikaric finished with 114, 134, 144, total 392.
