THE Orange and District Pistol Club held a successful 40th anniversary shoot during the weekend.
After a bushfire severely damaged the club's range in February, club members have been working to have their facilities ready for the anniversary celebrations.
The shoot on Saturday and Sunday included air pistol, standard pistol, sports pistol and centre fire with nearly 50 members contesting the shoots.
On Saturday a plaque was unveiled to name the new indoor air pistol range after foundation member the late John Harvey.
Since the range was damaged by fire the club has been holding regular working bees.
Rebuilding the ranges has allowed the club to improve facilities, such as better lighting and seating.
