The tickets sold out within 25 minutes, with transactions completed within half an hour, which FOOD Week Committee president Michael Sobotta found to be a "very encouraging" sign for the 31st festival, which will take place in April.
Dr Sobotta said there were 1000 tickets this year for Forage, which is a 4.1 kilometre walk through vineyards at Borenore and Nashdale with food, drink and live music stations every 500 metres.
"Our Friends of Food social membership they got access to the tickets in December and then we sell the remainder of tickets," Dr Sobotta said.
"Members took about 60 per cent of tickets and roughly 40 per cent were sold [Friday] morning.
"They do go quickly, I understand there's a small waiting list but ultimately it went as planned."
Dr Sobotta said the Forage tickets have sold more quickly in the past, in 2017 all tickets were reserved in 180 seconds, but half an hour was still good.
Tickets for the The Sampson Street Long Lunch were also close to selling out within the hour of going online although Dr Sobotta said some tickets were kept aside for street residents.
Held along the street opposite Cook Park, the long table lunch had seats for 300 diners.
"For us it's really encouraging, particularly when in the last few years things have been cancelled and postponed," he said.
"We had a fantastic event in 2021, where there was easing of restrictions, there was a beautiful 10-day weather pattern.
"Even with the current omicron issues we are still planning for everything to go ahead."
Dr Sobotta said the Friends of Food social club subscription helps the FOOD Week committee provide marketing, exposure and planning activities such as launch nights. In return the members get early access to tickets and informed of what is happening in Orange.
There are still tickets available to other FOOD Week Events such as The FOOD Train, which includes Forage. "Last year we were hampered by travel restrictions," Dr Sobotta said.
Shine the Light on Local Producers events also still have tickets, as do other events.
