The six-piece band, featuring Jaydean 'JD' Malouf [lead vocals], Andrew Brown [guitar], John Attwood [guitar], Tarnia Davison [keyboards, vocals], Brett Jermyn [bass] and Stephen 'Grassy' Beath [drums], will entice audience with an eclectic range of covers from the likes of The Angels, Dragon, David Bowie and much more.
Brown said the band is looking forward to helping locals enjoy their New Year's Eve with some quality live entertainment.
"It's a bit of an honour for us to be able to perform at Party in the Park, it's the biggest gig of the year, and we're thankful to Bathurst Regional Council for giving us the opportunity," he said.
"Like many other bands in town, its been tough for us to stay focused and on the ball around COVID lockdowns, but we've played a couple of gigs lately to shake the cobwebs off, and look forward to getting back in front of a big crowd again."
Wildcard have been a staple of the local covers scene for the last few years, having performed repeat gigs at the Family Hotel, the Commercial Hotel in Lithgow and select venues in Blayney, Oberon and Mudgee.
Brown said the audience can expect a diverse 25-song performance full of tunes to get plenty singing along.
"The Aussie pub rock stuff is certainly at the core of what we regularly play live, but this gig has certainly challenged us to learn more songs that'll get people dancing," he said.
"There'll be a few surprises in the mix, such as David Bowie's 'Heroes', where JD channels his falsetto vocals in a rather unique way, and it always gets a good response from audience members."
Malouf said it's great to see live music slowly making a comeback, and commended the band for continuing to push through the challenges.
"We're a motley crew of dedicated musicians who have worked hard from meagre beginnings to put together something enjoyable and entertaining," he said.
"But most importantly, we're having fun playing music together, and that's the main thing that matters."
Bark Audio's Josh Mesilane will be on deck doing sound for Wildcard at their gig.
Wildcard will be on stage at Party in the Park this Saturday from 7pm and will perform for approximately two hours. They will be preceded by Belle Whitwell, who will be performing live from 5pm when the event gets under way.
