That wild weather has dealt the club yet another setback when the storm that uprooted trees and cut power across Lyndhurst area on Sunday evening tore the roof of their 50 year old club house.
"I received a message from a friend in Blayney that someone that lived nearby had reported that the roof had blown off," he said.
"We then called the SES and some members and we visited the site on Monday morning and there were trees down everywhere, half the roof was off the clubhouse and the Gyprock had all fallen down."
Mr Bastow was glad to discover that the club's memorabilia had been spared the tempest despite the significant damage to the remainder of the clubhouse.
The Blayney SES and a club member took to the fallen trees with a chainsaw to allow better access to the site, however with Christmas just around the corner, the hope of getting urgent repairs done is difficult.
"We've contacted the insurance agency and they're onto it, but there's no getting tradies at this time of the year, even if it's an emergency," Mr Bastow said.
Sailing Australia, of which they are members, have waived the club's fees for the year and have also informed them about a $1,000 grant that they can access.
The next steps will occur in the new year when the club's members get an opportunity to visit the site and develop a plan to grow and re-establish the club.
"We're determined to get the club growing again and we're always looking for new members," he said.
