Many may recall this man from season three of the popular television series, MasterChef, where Mr Pereira was a popular contestant on the show in 2011.
Though, what many may not know, is that Mr Pereira's talents stretch far beyond simply being a reality TV contestant from a cooking series on the gogglebox.
Born in Sri Lanka, Mr Peirera studied typographic design at the London College of Printing, lived and worked in Hong Kong for the 18-years following, before finally moving to Australia in 1988 with his wife and their two sons; a country that he's had many successes in, and speaks of with high regard.
"I see myself as a role model for all Australians, as [someone] who settled here, worked and contributed in a small way to [help] make this a country the place that it is." Mr Pereira said.
"[Australia] is a country that is accepting and welcoming, tolerant and encouraging, safe and fair; a country that thrives on the harmony and happiness of its citizens."

He is also a gifted author and illustrator, has a solid background in graphic design and teaching, now runs intermittent culinary food tours overseas; sharing his passion for cooking with people from all over the world.
From the perspective of a man who immigrated to Australian shores many years ago, Mr Pereira placed a noteworthy significance on his views surrounding diversity within our nation.
"It is important to acknowledge and recognise everyone - from the original inhabitants of the country, to recent arrivals - as it is only then can we claim to be a truly multicultural country," he said.
"To make Australia Day totally inclusive and involve everyone living in this country is a wonderful idea; to include Peoples of Aboriginal and Torres Strait communities, perhaps we should choose a different day that is more neutral and suitable for a national celebration."
With these views, Mr Pereira also noted the importance of kindness; and to be a person who endeavours to live in the world as authentically as possible.
"Always be true to yourself," he said.
"Be helpful, share, care, and always strive to do your best."
