President of the Spring Hill recreation ground committee Ron Gander said the village was growing in popularity as a base for visitors to the area who bring their caravans to the Recreational Ground and then venture out to explore the district.
"People have started using it, they realise it's in a wonderful central position. You can head in every direction and you don't have to go on a major highway," he said.

The ground received another handy boost this week when its application for funding to upgrade its amenities and have a picket fence installed came through.
Member for Orange Philip Donato announced $88,000 had been made available for the project, coming from the NSW Government-funded Community Building Partnership Grants Program.
Under the program, $400,000 is allocated to each electorate.
"It's a pleasure to help the community of Spring Hill realise their vision to develop and enhance the Spring Hill Recreation Ground," Mr Donato said.
"The Spring Hill Recreation Ground is becoming a popular stop-over location for travellers towing caravans. The work already done at the site has made it an attractive and affordable place to stay.
"The funding will be used to extend amenities, including new showers, toilets and change rooms to comfortably support visitors during their stay."
The metal picket fence, will surround the oval, home of the Wood Ducks cricket club.
"It will enhance the aesthetics of the recreation ground while providing a durable border around the historic sports field," Mr Donato said.
"I congratulate the Spring Hill Activities Group on being awarded this funding, and I very much look forward to seeing the completed works which will benefit this tight-knit village community."
