Mrs Greenhalgh is one of eight new faces earning a place on the incoming council which will be sworn in at the first council meeting on February 1. She secured a place after Jason Hamling, who led the Group H ticket, was declared Orange's incoming mayor on Monday.

A business development manager in hospitality and long-time committee member on the Bloomfield Junior League Club and Ronald McDonald House volunteer, Mrs Greenhalgh is one of two women confirmed on council with nurse Melanie McDonell also successful.

Like Cr Hamling, Mrs Greenhalgh is looking forward to progressing the sports stadium project.

"One hundred and twenty per cent," she said.

She is also looking forward to bringing a female voice and a working mum's voice to the table.

Other new faces included lead candidates for the Shooters, Fishers and Farmers and Greens, Glenn Floyd and David Mallard.

Independent Steve Peterson completes the list of confirmed newcomers.

Incumbent councillors Tony Mileto, Kevin Duffy and Jeff Whitton were also re-elected.

Tipped to be elected are Business Orange chairman Jack Evans, who ran as the number two on Cr Mileto's ticket. That ticket has a quota of 1.89, putting Mr Evans in a good place to be the youngest member of the incoming council.

The remaining two places will come down to preferences with Orange Residents and Ratepayers ticket having a quota of .71 meaning lead candidate Frances Kinghorne could slip in, as could Sarah McGregor, the third candidate on Cr Hamling's ticket.

The positions are expected to be confirmed on Wednesday.
