Heading into the second day of play in the sixth round Bathurst Orange Inter District Cricket match, Sellers had only scored a handful of runs from the opening day.
But on Saturday he went crazy, scoring 13 fours and three sixes on the way to hitting an unbeaten score of 103 for his junior club.
The ORC skipper confirmed that it was his third first grade century and his first since scoring a century in second grade back during the 2014-15 season.
"I came in about 3-50. We had a fair few blokes out the second week, so we batted them up the order, my brother [Wayne] on 41 not out at stumps," he said.
"I came in and faced an over last week and just started this week on about two or three not out at the start. I just went to work from there."
It's ORC's third consecutive win following victories after Centrals in round four and Bathurst in round five.
Sellers admitted he went into this season hoping for just some good results and maybe sneak into the finals so understandably he's been impressed at how the Tigers have exceeded his expectations so far.
"I think we didn't really expect too much this year," he said.
"A good year would've been sneaking into the finals but we've been able to win a few good games, heading into the back end of the season.
"Look, we're not getting too confident. We have a pretty good draw, being washed out against some of the really good teams [Orange City and Cavaliers].
"No disrespect to them, but we've had a really good run against some of the lower teams. So we'll see how we can go. If we can sneak into the finals from where we are, that would be a pretty good result."
Kurt Toole did his best to halt the pain for Centennials, taking five wickets, but he was never able to dismiss the elusive Sellers.
And Toole did his best to put on a strong score with little time to play, scoring a half century (57) in Bulls' second innings.
Sellers had declared hoping that his team might be able to sneak an outright win.
"I think we got to about 70 ahead and I wanted to declare pretty early, to give us the time to get the 10 wickets. The pitch had flatten out a lot," he said.
"The score doesn't look great. They got 2-90, but we dropped four catches. So if we take those catches it's 6-50 odd and it could've been anything. It wasn't to be and they batted really well."
ORC had only rejoined first grade this season after a few years away, with many predicting a last place finish.
