An investigation is underway after a man presented to hospital with stab wounds in Cowra on Monday.

Police have been told about 2.30pm on Monday, a man presented to Cowra Hospital with stab wounds to his chest, back and leg.

The 45-year-old man was treated, before being airlifted to Orange Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Officers from Chifley Police District were notified and attended a unit on Redfern Street, Cowra, where they located blood inside and outside.
A crime scene was established and examined by specialist forensic police.
Detectives started an investigation into how the man came to be injured, and anyone who may have information is urged to contact Cowra Police Station on 6341 5099 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
