The scholarships are a 13-week work-integrated learning program which candidates can attend via the live virtual sessions or watch them in their own time through Yirigaa's online learning management system (LMS).
This opportunity is available to all Aboriginal people interested in technology, specifically cyber security, to learn from industry experts and gain hands-on experience.
Yirigaa chair, Associate Professor Dr Lynette Riley, a Wiradjuri and Gamilaroi woman from Dubbo and Moree has urged indigenous people to register.
"Regardless of your current situation, unemployed, employed, at school or your level of education," she said.
Founding Yirigaa director and cyber security expert Jeff Whitton said the industry is in desperate need of cyber security skills and resources across all spheres of Government and industry
"Our program combines a curriculum and gamified artificial intelligent cyber security range that allows candidates to be reskilled, upskilled or for those entering the industry to be trained and certified," Mr Whitton said.
The sessions are virtual, allowing candidates to attend the sessions anywhere they have a computer connected to the internet. The course provides real-world cyber scenarios, missions and battle rooms labs that enable the candidates to learn and complete tasks assigned by mentors.
