Steve Peterson GROUP D
Group members: Steven Peterson, Theodore Crane, Emilie Lowe, Warwick Baines, Nicole Grant, Scott Hanrahan.
Political affiliation and your running mates: Independent ticket
Occupation: Medical doctor
What is your family situation: Married with five-year-old and seven-year-old sons.
How long have you lived in Orange: Eight years
Most important issues: Water security and preparing for the next drought, better roads and footpaths, Transparency on rates and explanations as to why they are higher than similar regional centres, improved town planning and sustainable development, accessibility, and winter access to Mount Canobolas.
Why should you vote for me: I'm 36 years old and have been a doctor for 11 years, husband for nine, father for seven and quadriplegic for three. These experiences have taught me many lessons which I hope to bring to council to provide fresh perspectives and make a different contribution to the other councillors.
As important as the issues listed above are, Orange council requires hard-working team players to deal with the unknown unknowns. We don't know what challenges Orange will face next term. As a quadriplegic doctor with young children I am an experienced problem solver. I am a safe choice for council and would be grateful for your vote in group D.
