The Western NSW Local Health district recorded 10 cases for the period, with Bathurst making up the balance with four.
The six Orange cases take the city's number to 10 since Tuesday and WNSWLHD encouraging surveillance testing, or testing even if there are no symptoms.
Residents can be tested at the Orange Showground or at Wade Park from 8am to 4pm.
Residents of Coonabarabran are also being asked to get tested following detection in the sewerage on Thursday.
Over all, the WNSWLHD has recorded 1702 cases of COVID-19. There are no cases in hospital but 55 people are being cared for in the community.
NSW has recorded 216 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths in the 24 hours to 8pm.
On Thursday, Western Sydney Local Health District recorded the highest number of coronavirus cases across the state with 54 cases.
Hunter New England LHD recorded 53 new cases, while South Western Sydney LHD had 43, making it the area with the third highest new cases recorded yesterday.
Bowen Public School in Orange remained closed on Friday with Principal Marianne Pankhurst saying time was needed for the completion of the contact tracing process and for cleaning.
On the school's Facebook pace, Mrs Pankhurst said NSW Health has requested anyone who has been unwell or if developed symptoms such as a fever, cough, sore throat, shortness of breath, runny nose, loss of smell/taste, muscle/joint pains, diarrhoea, nausea/vomiting or extreme tiredness to be tested at one of the COVID-19 testing clinics.
"The safety and wellbeing of our staff and students is of paramount importance to us at all times. As such we will continue to work closely with NSW Health to ensure that all necessary health advice is adhered to," Mrs Pankhurst said.
During this time, learning from home resources will be available from the learning from home hub.
The state's population aged 16 years and over is now 91.5 per cent fully vaccinated, while 94.3 per cent have had their first COVID-19 vaccine shot.
Those aged between 12 and 15 years are 74.6 per cent fully vaccinated, while 80.8 per cent have had their first dose.
Statewide, there are 196 COVID-19 patients in hospital, with 28 in ICU.
On Thursday, 72,893 tests were conducted which was down on the previous day's total of 80,402.
