The talented teenager will once again line up for CYMS on Friday night as the green and golds look to stay undefeated in the Royal Hotel Cup when they host City Colts at Wade Park.
The 17-year-old scored a sizzling 50-ball 73 against Kinross in their opening T20 match and he is hoping for more of the same.
"It was pretty good. I just went out to bat, didn't really know what was going to happen and they started coming out of the middle," he said on his match-winning knock.
"I'm a pretty impatient batter, but I go out there and just try and pick the right ball pretty much.
"If they give you a good ball, it deserves a block, but if it's in the slot then give it a crack."
Murphy made his first grade and Royal Hotel Cup debut last season and said it meant a lot to be in the mix amongst the club's best.
"They're definitely good to be around. They've been around for a long time and it's good to get a few tips off them," Murphy said on having experienced heads like Hugh Le Lievre and Dave Neil in the club.
"Definitely to score a few runs in front of the older boys would be pretty cool. Maybe a couple tons as well. I'll just keep batting and hopefully get a few wins in first grade and go the whole way.
"I've got a few other things on, but I'd definitely like to have a crack on Saturdays as well and see how that goes."
Those other things include rugby league trials for the Western Rams, which may impact his availability throughout the season.
But for now, he's got his eye on Friday night's tilt against the Colts.
"I'll go out there and try my best, watch the ball and they'll have a few good bowlers as well so maybe just take your time," he added.
The Bathurst side also comes into the game with a win on the board, which came in a 63-run thumping of Centennials Bulls.
CYMS' full side for 6.30pm match is: Hugh Le Lievre (c),Thomas Belmonte (vc), Michael Delaney, David Neil (wk), Alan Dhatt, Nick Murphy, Johnty French, Jeron Sijo, Aquinder Dhillon, Tom West, Ben Bartlett and Thomas Wilson.
