The Orange bat is one of a throng of young players coming through the ranks this Women's Big Bash League campaign.

The Kinross Wolaroi student debuted two summers ago but it was last year she helped the Thunder take out the WBBL06 crown, and this summer she's taken on a more senior role - at just 18 - by moving up to the No.3 spot on the lime green batting order.

And it's there the Orange young-gun looms as one of the danger players for the Sixers ahead of Saturday's WBBL07 Sydney derby against the Thunder on neutral territory at Launceston.

And Healy, an Australian representative and one of the world's best Twenty20 players, can't wait.

"Phoebe's one of those players that everyone wants to watch when she comes out to bat ... putting no pressure on her," Healy smiled.

"But she's an exciting talent. The tournament as a whole, it's been great to see the youth come out and really show their skills.

"(Phoebe's) spent much of the pre-season at home in Orange but it's been great to see her come here and play some cricket with a smile on her face."

The Thunder took a hit to open their campaign last week, dropping its season opener against the Adelaide Strikers by 30 runs, Litchfield hitting 16 in as many balls.

At the same time, Healy fired the Sixers to a stunning opening round victory over the Stars. The girls in magenta have since won another and dropped one in three games to start their campaign.

Litchfield said the Thunder girls are keen to get the ball rolling ahead of a bumper period for the side - they play five games in the next eight days.

"Wherever we play (against the Sixers) it's still pretty heated and it'll be a good game," Litchfield said.

"Phoebe is spot on," Healy chimed in.

"It doesn't matter where we play, Sixers-Thunder have a great rivalry that dates back to WBBL01. I think we're all looking forward to the contest."

Litchfield said that rivalry stems from the fact the bulk of the Sixers and Thunder sides train together as NSW players in the lead-up to the WBBL.

There's no way either side will give the other an inch.

Still, there's one player Litchfield says she's planning on channeling when she strides out to the crease on Saturday.

"I grew up watching 'Midge' play. Her first innings against the Stars solidified why she's one of the best. Now I'm playing against her ... it's a bit more nerve racking," Litchfield laughed.

"She plays that fearless style of cricket. And to get to see her play that way, it's something I'll try and channel, for sure. Be brave."

The Thunder and Sixers duke it out from 3.40pm on Saturday.
