And FoodCare president Bev Williams is grateful for that support but on Tuesday singled out the parishioners from Orange's Baptist and Presbyterian churches for their efforts.
"They have made significant donations to FoodCare," Mrs Williams said.
She explained the Baptist Church regularly collects non-perishable food items from its community which are donated to the FoodCare office.
"They're all used for people that come down here who are absolutely at the end of their tether, have no money, no food. We're able to give them food," she said.
"The Presbyterian church here has set up a regular donation that they put into our bank account on a regular basis."
Thanks to the combined efforts of the church communities and wider, FoodCare has been able to pay for some extra items on its clients' shopping lists.
"We're able to do that because of donations - over the last 12 months FoodCare has given away $17,000 in addition items to customers," Mrs Williams said.
"That's covered about 6000 shopping experiences."
Reverend Angus Gibb said his parish was delighted to help.
"Absolutely, we're really keen to support a great community organisation," he said.
Mrs Williams said there were many people struggling to put food on their families plates during lockdown, including a refugee family hit hard last year.
"They lost their jobs and they had no income, no food and no government support but we were able to assist them," she said.
FoodCare accepts donations of non-perishable foods at its office at 142 March Street.
