The Royal Flying Doctor Service arrived on Saturday night at a station at Tilpa, about 350km southwest of Broken Hill, and were told a man was travelling in the rear tray of a Toyota Landcruiser when he fell from the vehicle.
The Cobar man suffered head injuries and died at the scene. Police are investigating.
