Both stores are now being run by BWS, which is part of the Endeavour Group.
The BWS store on Peisley Street opened on September 28. It is managed by Kristina Poole and three team members have been recruited from the community. The Bathurst Road store opened last week and is run by David Clark. The team has transferred from D'Aquinos. There are five team members in total, including the store manager.
An Endeavour Group spokesman said BWS is excited to expand in Orange with the recent opening of the shops.
"We're passionate about local - we employ locals, work with local suppliers and curate store ranges to suit the tastes of locals, and that's what we're doing with these new stores, which will feature over 50 local products," he said.
Hog's Breath shut
Hog's Breath Cafe has closed its business in Lords Place.
In a message to customers the American-style eatery stated it is sorry for any inconvenience caused by the closure.
"We are currently seeking a new franchisee and looking to reopen soon," the message said.
Flu jab donation
Influenza will have a hard time cracking the staff at Wangarang in the coming months thanks to North Orange Discount Drug Store.
Owner Tim Denham gave about 20 employees a free flu booster jab after initially discussing the donation with Wangarang CEO Kevin McGuire.
"I happened to walk in [to the pharmacy] one day and Tim said 'I've got a few flu vaccines I want to donate to you'," Mr McGuire said. "It was unbelievable and just such a good thing to do."
With NSW coming out of lockdown now is a good time to get a flu booster.
Mr Denham's donation was also extended to employees who were still in the mandatory seven-day wait after having a COVID-19 shot.
They can visit the pharmacy for their free shot.
"We've got different guys living in different group homes, so for Tim to set aside an hour and a half today was great."
Mr McGuire said. Wangarang staff also helped with the required 15-minute monitoring after jabs were administered.
