After returning from a stint in Sydney last year, Westcott chose to play with Willie Heta at two blues this winter, opting against a campaign with his junior club CYMS.
Westcott is on the brink of another change as he's secured a job at Marsden State High School, just a 30-minute drive from Brisbane.
While teaching will be his primary focus, the playmaker's also been in talks with a few of the first-grade clubs in the region as his end goal is to make a push towards the Queensland Cup, and beyond.
But, before Westcott dove into too much detail about his northern move, he wanted to pay homage to those who helped him over the years.
"I think firstly I want to thank Johnno [Mark Johnston] and Willie [Heta] for giving me the opportunity at Hawks," he said.
"I'm thankful for CYMS as well. I played a heap of junior footy there as well. I know there's a big rivalry, but I've got love for both clubs. They both take pride in their jumpers and I just want to thank them both."
He wasn't able to reveal who he plans to play with next winter, but his dreams don't just stop with a local first-grade appearance.
"I really want to try to go through the grades up there," he said.

"The goal's to play Q Cup and once you get there, you're not that far away [from the NRL]."
Moves are made easier when you've got a loved one by your side, and Westcott's appreciative for his partner who's stepping out of her comfort zone for the first time.
"I'm very thankful to have her with me," he said.
"She hasn't really moved away from family before, so I'm lucky to be moving up there with her."
