The latest case which was announced by the Western NSW Local Health District (WNSWLHD) on Friday morning was not infectious in the community.
It is not yet known if this new case is linked to any of the three new cases recorded for Orange on Wednesday, or the one which was recorded on Monday.
Across the health district, the number of new cases announced Friday had more than doubled compared to the day prior.
There were 16 new cases in total. Up to 8pm last night these were identified in Bathurst (5), Bourke (1), Dubbo (6), Wellington (2), Oberon (1) and Orange (1).
So far, of these new cases, only the one in Bourke and one in Dubbo have been determined as being in the community while infectious.
Twelve were not, while the remaining two are still under investigation.
In total, there have been 1444 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in WNSWLHD during the latest outbreak.
There have also been 13 deaths. The latest was announced yesterday - the man was Aboriginal and in his 50s. He died at Wellington Hospital. He had received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine and had "underlying health conditions", WNSWLHD said.
COVID-19 testing is still available at Wade Park and at the Orange Showgrounds from 8am to 4pm.
Both clinics are drive-through and bookings are not required.
NSW recorded 646 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm last night.
There were eleven deaths including two women and nine men.
Two were in their 50s, one in their 60s, four in their 70s, and four in their 80s.
Seven people were not vaccinated, three had received one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, and one had received two doses.
To 11.59pm on Wednesday, October 6, across NSW, 89.4 per cent of the over-16 population had received a first dose COVID-19 vaccine, and 70.3 per cent were fully vaccinated.
