During routine works on Friday, Essential Energy crews noticed water pooling at the base of the pole. Crews immediately inspected the pole to ensure public safety and the electricity network, including testing the pole for voltage.
The inspection did not identify any safety concerns regarding the pole's structural integrity or voltage and the water is groundwater seeping through conduit on the outside of the pole.
An Essential Energy spokesperson said crews would work to stop the water pooling at the base of the pole.
