Bradley McGuire, 55, of Currong Crescent, was caught driving along Kurim Avenue with cannabis in his system after passing a marked police car and quickly turning into a side street on April 15.
He told police he used cannabis daily.
According to police McGuire's driver's licence expired on November 24, 1992, and he had numerous traffic-related charges on his record.
Magistrate David Day said McGuire had "an appalling driving record".
"He's entitled to zero leniency which is what he's going to receive," he said.
He convicted McGuire, fined him $330 and disqualified his driver's licence for an additional three months.
