The Western NSW Local Health District has 17 new cases - up from 15 the day before - with the bulk of those in Dubbo (10).
The other cases are located in Walgett (two), Warrumbungle (two) and one each in Bourke, Bathurst and Mudgee.
Across NSW, six people died of COVID-19 overnight. The four women and two men, aged in their 40s, 60s, 70s and 80s, were from Western and South West Sydney, Dr Jeremy McAnulty - the head of NSW Health's COVID response branch - announced Saturday morning.
The state has administered 8.7 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine to date and recorded 1331 locally acquired cases.
There were 129,954 COVID tests administered in the reporting period.
81.2 per cent of the state's population, aged over 16 years, have received at least one dose of a COVID vaccine, and 50.6 per cent have received two doses.
NSW hospitals are currently treating 1219 people for COVID-19, Dr McAnulty said, including 233 people in intensive care and 123 people who require ventilation.
Of the number of intensive care patients, Dr McAnulty said 173 were unvaccinated.
