A man will face court next month charged with dangerous and negligent driving causing grievous bodily harm after the ute he was in allegedly hit a cyclist on the Mitchell Highway on Sunday morning.

At around 7.30am on September 12, emergency services were called to Chinaman's Bend, just outside of Orange, after reports a cyclist had been hit by a white Toyota Hilux.
Officers from Central West Police District and the Crash Investigation Unit (CIU) attended and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The cyclist, a 68-year-old female, suffered serious injuries to her elbow and spine after being thrown from the bike.
The driver a 24-year-old man stopped to render assistance.
She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics, before being taken to Orange Hospital in a serious condition.
The man attended Orange Police Station later that day and was charged with dangerous driving cause grievous bodily harm and negligent driving cause grievous bodily harm.
He was given a conditional bail to appear at Orange Local Court on the October 18.
