That's what Panorama FC attacking midfielder Teegan Ward attributes to her stellar season in 2021 as the sharpshooter claimed the golden boot award, netting 15 goals in 13 starts.
The Goats worked their way to the pointy end of the table during the Bathurst District Football Ladies Premier League season and even though the competition was officially abandoned, will receive the minor premiership after pipping second-placed Abercrombie on PPG.
This winter was Ward's second in the competition and since joining forces with coach Brent Huie, has been a revelation.
"It was a really good season for us this year, we gelled from the start," Ward said.
"Finding out this morning that we are minor premiers was good, but we would have loved the chance to win the grand-final like we did last year.
"There were some really tough teams in this year's competition and making the grand-final is always the hardest part."
It's a shame the Goats won't have the opportunity to go back-to-back, but Ward was stoked to take out the honour she did.
"I would have been happy for anyone on our team to get it, but it's a nice cherry on top for me," she said.
"There was a lot of team effort and I was just in the right place in the right time... and there was a little bit of skill involved."
Huie is known in some circles as Bathurst's football whisperer, so it's no surprise Ward took kindly to his coaching methods.
"I only met Brent last year, but he's a great guy on and off the field," she said.
"He lets us girls do our thing, and he's always sending us lots of positive energy and great messages.
"He suits the role for women's football. You can't have someone that just yells at you all the time. He's a great mentor, even though he doesn't say he is."
Huie offered his thoughts on the achievement, and what the presence of players like Ward can do for your team.
"The thing about goal scorers like Teegan is that they score goals - you don't score 15 goals in 13 games without being able to score goals," he said.
"So when you've got somebody like Teegz who can score you those goals, it takes a lot of pressure off the rest of the team to score goals."
Teegan is married to Barnstoneworth United FC midfield Josh Ward as their household is well and truly a football one.
When asked how many goals Josh has scored compared to Teegan, she answered quickly.
"I know how many he's scored," she laughed. It's not 15, but he'd rather set people up and do the passing."
Ward had a sensational season throughout the WPL competition.
