Two new cases were recorded in Bathurst up to 8pm Wednesday night and chief executive of Western NSW Local Health District, Scott McLachlan, took aim at one of those on Thursday.
"I know one of the cases has been the most problematic to try and understand where they have been for our Public Health contact tracing teams.
"It has been infuriating to hear the stories of a person telling lies, withholding a lot of information and knowing they've been infectious in the community and putting other people at risk.
"It's been really troubling to see the disregard for other people's safety for lives in Bathurst and so could I please urge everyone this is time to help the community."
Just 255 people received COVID tests in Bathurst on Wednesday, something which was a concern to Mr McLachlan.
"If you've been in contact with someone, get tested and stay in isolation," he added.
"If you become a confirmed case of COVID, please don't mess around with other people's lives. Please help us understand how we can keep everyone safe and in this case in Bathurst it's been really troubling to hear the stories of our contact tracing teams being lied to, information being withheld and to be honest being led up the garden path."
