Orange recorded no new cases of community transmission on Wednesday, that case among a total of 27 in the Western NSW Local Health District.

However, sadly, in the 24-hour recording period to 8pm on Tuesday night a man from Dubbo who was aged in his 60s died at the Prince Alfred Hospital.
The man was not vaccinated and had significant underlying health conditions.
He is the third person from the Western region to die with COVID including an Aboriginal woman from Enngonia and a man in his 50s who both died at Dubbo hospital.
Case-wise, NSW had 1480 new cases of COVID-19 and NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian announced that the state has now reached 75 per cent of first doses and 42 per cent of have been fully vaccinated.
Western's total was heavily back-ended by Dubbo, the Western NSW LHD major centre adding 17 to its total while Bathurst recorded three new cases ending its three day streak of no new cases.
There were no new cases identified in Blayney or the Cabonne shires but three were three more cases were recorded in Bourke, three at Enngonia and one at Walgett.
In the far west there were seven cases all in Wilcannia.
Wednesday's good news for Orange marked an end to four consecutive days of new positive cases and the city is making the most of its temporary vaccination hub.
Of the new locally acquired cases reported to 8pm last night:
- 467 are from South Western Sydney LHD
- 424 are from Western Sydney Local Health District (LHD)
- 233 are from Sydney LHD
- 119 are from South Eastern Sydney LHD
- 60 are from Nepean Blue Mountains LHD
- 38 are from Northern Sydney LHD
- 34 are from Illawarra Shoalhaven LHD
- 27 are from Western NSW LHD
- 20 are in correctional settings
- 15 are from Central Coast LHD
- 11 are from Hunter New England LHD
- seven are from Far West LHD
- 25 cases are yet to be assigned to an LHD
The man from Dubbo was one of nine people who died with COVID-19 in the 24 hours to 8pm as announced by NSW Health.
The deaths brought the state's toll to 148 since June.
As of 8pm Tuesday there were also 130341 tests recorded and there are 11,000 people with COVID-19 in NSW, 90 per cent of whom are being cared for in the community.
However, there are 1136 COVID-19 cases in hospital, including 194 in intensive care and 78 requiring ventilation. Of the 184 people in intensive care, 158 are not vaccinated.
