Last week, on the morning of September 1, police from the Chifley Police District and the Orange Highway Patrol stopped a Ford Falcon for a Public Health Order compliance check on the Great Western Highway at Lithgow.
The three occupants were observed without any face coverings.
Inquiries showed the three men were from different households and were required to wear face masks while in the motor vehicle together.
The men told police they were travelling to inspect property Orange.
However, further inquiries revealed the men were actually travelling to purchase a motor vehicle.
As a result, the men were directed to return to their residence in Greater Sydney and issued fines totaling $1500 for not complying with face covering requirements.
