To 8pm on Sunday night, Orange's tally increased by two, taking its case levels to 33 - a number that includes the six tradies that were sent packing back to Sydney in August.
The two new cases are household contacts of known previous cases.
Across the Western NSW Local Health District, a region Dr Kerry Chant says remains a real concern for health officials, there were 44 new cases, representing an upswing from the 32 cases announced on Sunday.
Dubbo's numbers jumped, too, back up to 35 for the 24-hour reporting period to 8pm on Sunday night, while Bourke recorded six new cases. The only other case in the region was in Narromine.
The rise in numbers correlates with the NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian's expected peak in cases across the state "sometime in the next week".
At 9am on Monday, the Orange vaccination hub was announced as at capacity on day one of its operation in the city. It'll be open again from 9am on Tuesday, with reports people were lining up from 6.30am on Monday morning.
NSW recorded 1281 new locally acquired cases of COVID-19 and five deaths on Monday.
A man in his 90s from south-east Sydney died at St George Hospital. He was a resident of St George Aged Care Facility in Bexley and acquired his infection there.
A woman in her 80s from northern Sydney died at Ryde Hospital.
A woman in her 50s from western Sydney died at Westmead Hospital.
A woman in her 80s from western Sydney died at Westmead Hospital.
A man in his 60s from Southern Highlands died at home.
NSW hospitals are treating 1071 COVID-19 patients in hospital, including 177 in intensive care and 67 on ventilators.
There have been 131 COVID-19 related deaths in NSW since 16 June 2021, and 187 in total since the start of the pandemic.
There have been 29,253 locally acquired cases reported since June 16, 2021.
