The case was announced by NSW Health on Wednesday, September 1, with the Catholic Parish of St Mary & St Joseph taking to its Facebook page shortly after to share the news.
"Although the priests and staff have been working from home as much as possible, there have been a few unavoidable occasions when staff have needed to visit the office and have crossed paths," the post from Father Greg Bellamy read.
"Some staff members are deemed close contacts, and others are casual or secondary contacts.
"Fr Karl and myself are casual contacts. Fr Antony is a secondary contact. The priests are isolating at least until all three return negative test results.
"As a result, we cannot perform any pastoral duties at least for the next few days. Daily Mass will be live-streamed from the presbytery chapel with only the parish priest present. In an emergency, we can contact the priests in Bathurst to attend to anyone in an 'end of life' situation."
The post added that the parishioners and contractors who have had any direct contact with any parish staff members over the last week have been informed and advised to get tested as soon as possible.
"I hope that we will all return negative test results," the post added.
"Please pray for the staff member who has tested positive and let's all continue to pray for each other."
That same day, Orange Credit Union wrote on its Facebook page that it would be unavailable until further notice.
"Orange Credit Union has been advised by NSW Police that our premises has been linked to a positive COVID-19 case," the post read.
"Our priority is to safeguard our team, customers, members and the community.
"NSW Health guidelines advises anyone who attended our premises at 288 Summer Street on Tuesday, August 31 to immediately self-isolate, get tested to stay safe and protect yourself and loved ones. Please follow NSW Health guidelines or contact NSW Health on 1800 943 553 or the WNSWLHD on 1300 066 055.
"As a precaution, we have moved swiftly to close our office so deep cleaning and disinfecting the premises can be conducted ASAP. We will keep you updated regarding the re-opening of our office as soon as we know more."
The venue has not been listed on the NSW Health website. One reason for this could be that all people who are known to have visited the site during the stated time period have been contacted by authorities in regards to testing.
