Member for Orange Phil Donato said the six people were working together at a site in Orange.

He said they were all living together in the same house in Orange.

The six cases were revealed by NSW Health on Sunday.

Mr Donato said he understood they were not in hospital.

"They weren't at hospital as of Saturday night. They were at home all isolating," he said.

Mr Donato said he did not know if they were all men.

"It is a cluster of six, I was told they're contained in the one house, that they're working on the same site," he said.

"I don't know what site."

"They're workers, working in the area, living in the same house."

Mr Donato said they were from Sydney.

He said he was concerned they had been active in the community for several days before they were confirmed positive.

A number of Orange venues including Bunnings and several supermarkets have been identified as areas of contact concern.

Mr Donato said it was 'frustrating' people visiting the region had tested positive.

"It is frustrating. That was always the concern. I don't know the background, these people may have had the appropriate permits, they may have satisfied all the criteria but that was always the concern," he said.

"We'd seen that with the previous case, with a fellow that was working out at Blayney that had resulted from a truck driver delivery coming out from Sydney.

"There is a lot of movement between this region and Sydney."

Mr Donato urged people to get tested.
