I was pleased to read Andrew Gee's announcement in the CWD that the $280 million Black Summer Bushfire Recovery grants program is now open.

Whilst this is a positive initiative for the thousands of people affected by those horrendous bushfires, I am puzzled by the timing of this announcement.
The bushfires were in the summer of 2019-20.
Why has it taken more than 18 months to open up the grants program to the Calare communities?
Surely this should have happened many months ago.
