Kids from Catherine McAuley Catholic Primary School have spent the past week writing thank you notes to doctors and nurses at Liverpool Hospital in South-West Sydney where the impact virus is being heavily felt.
Isabelle Waters said it was a good for for her fellow students to band together.
"It's hard that Sydney's going through this but it's good that we get to lift their spirits by sending them plenty of cards," she said.
More than 500 cards were posted to the hospital this week with the hopes that they will decorate the hospital walls.
Principal Michael Croke decided to go through with the idea after being approached by Dr Shamus Shepard who works at Orange Hospital.
"You read about the Sydney stuff on the news but you don't really know unless you're living in it," he said.
"Orange had its own one week lockdown but this is something viable and tangible to help via moral support, particularly for those on the frontlines in Sydney.
"Some of the kids here have been to the emergency hospital in Orange for better or for worse, so they know what that's all about, so they know what the scene looks like.
"The messages are quite lengthy and very well thought out."
Paityn Klaare-Smith was proud of what the school had achieved.
"It was really good that we get to give back to the nurses and doctors who are going through hard times," she said.
"I was thanking them for all the things they do, even though it's not for me personally, but for everything that they do. It's good to be making a difference."
Emilee Campbell is a year three teacher at the school and said the students immediately loved the idea.
"As soon as I said Mr Croke has this wonderful plan, the kids were on board straight away," she said.
"I just opened the craft cupboards and they went for it. It was beautiful."
As of earlier this week, there had been seven staff, a student nurse and 29 patients impacted by the outbreak at Liverpool Hospital.
Catherine McAuley student Kody Wasow hopes the cards bring some sliver of joy. "I'm very excited for them to open them because I know our school has done a wonderful job in creating the cards and we've spent time making them," he said.
"My card was about sending them a power up."
William Vial thought the cards were a great idea.
"I reckon it was good because it could lift their spirits."
