A proposal to turn one house into three in Byng Street has been abandoned.
An amended development application for the project is currently on exhibition at Orange City Council.
In the document Richard Southwell of Southwell Design & Drafting outlines the reasons for the changes.
"We acknowledge that a number of objections were received from neighbours to the creation of three lots on site," he said.
"In particular concerns relating to the two-storey dwellings that would likely be constructed on the two newly created lots at the rear of the existing dwelling.
"The potential visual bulk of these new dwellings was of concern.
"The proposal now proposes a subdivision of the existing site into two lots. One lot around the existing dwelling, and a new battle-axe block at the rear of the existing dwelling, with access from Byng Street via an access driveway.
"The lot with the existing dwelling is now 402 [square metres] up from 383m indicated in the previous proposal.
"The new single vacant lot created at the rear of the existing dwelling is 624m."
The DA is on public exhibition until Thursday August 19.
Meanwhile changes have also been made to a proposal to turn vacant land on Torulosa Way into a 33-lot housing development.
The changes relate to drainage at the property.
Amendments include adding a retaining wall, removing a swale drain, changing road heights and modifying a basin.
It said the plans aimed to create a 'low-density' housing subdivision.
"This application proposes the same development albeit with the same lot yield," the DA states.
"The road and lot configuration is not proposed to be altered. The amendments relate to the engineering works being retaining walls, earthworks and the basin.
"The earthworks and grading are the primary proposed modification to the physical approved works.
"These modifications seek to provide a more effective drainage solution for the subdivision and do not present a significant material change to the development proposal."
It is also on public exhibition on the council website until August 19.
