A staff report to Orange City Council's next meeting on Tuesday night said FutureCity works were progressing in Lords Place and Byng and McNamara streets.
"Work adjacent to Robertson Park is complete and work on the western side of Lords Place is largely complete," it said.
This carpark will be completed when weather and COVID-19 restrictions allow
- Orange City Council report
"Work underway at present includes the construction of exposed aggregate walkways around the Civic Centre and the construction of median islands in Lords Place.
"Following this work, the median island in Byng Street will commence along with increasing the radius of the roundabout."
The report said sealing of a council car park on McNamara Street was delayed due to COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in the greater Sydney area.
"This carpark will be completed when weather and COVID-19 restrictions allow," it said.
However McNamara Street's works are complete with tree pit grates to be installed in about two weeks when they arrive.
"Currently the festoon lighting poles to be placed in the carpark are being sandblasted and galvanized," it said.
"To minimise parking disruption during their installation, council intends to close half of the carpark on a Friday to prepare the footings for three poles and then install the poles on the Saturday.
"For safety reasons and to minimise damage to the carpark surface, we will fully close the carpark on the Saturday. The following Friday and Saturday will see the remaining three poles installed in a similar fashion."
After the concrete has cured around the poles support wires and lighting will be installed.
"Again this work is proposed to be carried out over a weekend to minimise the impacts on parking," it said.
The report said about two weeks' work remained to complete traffic islands and drainage in Kite Street.
It also said constant rainfall in July had led to potholes forming on roads around the city and delayed other work.
"Extra maintenance crews have been established from council's road construction and concrete and drainage teams in order to help tackle the extra workload," it said.
Work affected by rain delays includes work on Hill Street, Lister Drive, Casey Street and on a new car park at the corner of Peisley and March streets.
