A bench, tree and memorial plaque have been placed near the playground and picnic area to remember Cr Previtera who died in hospital after a battle with cancer one year ago.
Orange mayor Cr Reg Kidd said it was a fitting site for the tribute as Cr Previtera had campaigned for camping and fishing to be allowed at the location.
Cr Kidd said Cr Previtera was a regular visitor to Gosling Creek.
"He had been pushing for a long time to see if they would allow fishing and camping out there," he said.
Cr Kidd said reflecting Mr Previtera's interests, the bench was made of environmentally-friendly materials which are composite plastic and sawdust.
He said the bluestone at the site was locally sourced.
"It's from the old quarry out near the racecourse," he said.
Cr Kidd said the date, August 1, also fitted Cr Previtera's interest in the environment.
He said it was the Planet Ark national tree day and was previously wattle day.
Cr Previtera joined Cr Sam Romano in being the first councillors elected as representatives of the Shooters Fishers and Farmers Party in 2017.
After his death council decided not to hold a by-election to find a replacement councillor.
