It is so good to see Suma Park Dam over-topping particularly after the drought years of 2016 to 2020.

With all the rain over the last 18 months Council has gone very quiet on the water security issue.
This is disappointing as a similar drought to that recently experienced will again have us facing level 6 water restrictions and closing down of businesses in about three years, as was experienced at the end of 2019.
It is vital Council continue to pursue access to additional water storage of sufficient capacity so we can survive the inevitable future droughts.

Please do not believe the Mayor's statement that "even if we have no rain there is enough water for 5 or 6 years".
This is patently untrue for our expanding City and as we learnt from the last drought, stormwater harvesting and water from the Macquarie River dried up with no runoff.
Hopefully the new Council and its leadership make water security the number one priority and appreciate access to additional viable storage is needed now.
