Partnering with the Orange Regional Conservatorium, Dudley Private Hospital and the Centre for Regional and Remote Mental Health, the initiative usually centres around a concert to promote the positive effect music can have on mental health.
The purpose of the event is to raise awareness around mental health and promote an ongoing discussion, as well as encouraging people to actively maintain positive practices.
In 2021, artists are invited to submit work which aligns with the theme of "courage" for an exhibition which will run at Orange City Library from October 4 -15.
"Explore the idea of courage: what it looks like, where courage comes from, who/what fills you with courage, what situations require courage," organisers said.
Artworks can be in any medium and creators can participate as individuals or as part of a group.
On World Mental Health Day on October 10, Breaking the Silence Orange will host a concert and panel discussion which will be live-streamed, regardless of what the COVID situation may look like by then - although the committee hopes to run the event before a live audience.
Artists can drop their work off at Orange City Library between October 1 and 3, and collect it between October 16 and 19.
Pieces will need to submitted with an artist's statement between 50 and 500 words.
