It was truly disturbing to see the hoards of people gather in protest of the government's stay at home orders, but that show of stupidity only further instilled the sense of pride I imagine most of Orange is filled with right now.

As a community we've rallied in the face of a similar lockdown imposed last Wednesday after a positive case was infectious in the community.
Our lockdown - granted shorter in duration than that in Sydney - has proven, again, that there's a real sense of community in country areas.
There's that 'we're all in this together' vibe that just doesn't exist in metro regions, as we saw on Saturday with those protests.
I feel for those in Sydney currently doing the right thing. Their hearts must have broken as those cov-idiots stormed the CBD and undid any if not all of the good work achieved through almost a month's worth of a lockdown already.
It's a real shame. It's now likely some families, again, won't be seeing each other this Christmas, if this Delta strain continues to be treated with the sort of contempt displayed by that minority of people who ironically pushed for freedom.

They, and the rest of Greater Sydney, are now no chance of that any time soon.
