The factory is closed after a pet food courier who delivered goods to depots at Parkes and Blayney has since tested positive for COVID-19.
Disability support worker Lisa Oborn said that she was getting tested because of her role and the fact that her husband Scott works at the plant.
"He works in logistics so they're all getting tested and can't return to work until they get a negative test result," she said.
Head of Corporate Affairs at Nestlé Oceania Margaret Stuart said that the company's immediate concerns are to protect their workers and the community.
"For this reason we decided to close the factory for cleaning yesterday, and trace movements of people on site," she said.
"We have asked everyone who works on the site to have a Covid-19 test and only return to work following a negative result."
Ms Stuart said that Nestlé has had significant precautions in place at all of their factories since early last year and have increased these in recent weeks in light of the restrictions in the Greater Sydney region.
"We have been advised that a truck driver who has subsequently tested positive for Covid-19 had visited our factory late in the evening on four nights last week," she said.
"Our site design means that delivery is separate from most areas of the site, and is managed to ensure social distancing."
Phil Nankivell doesn't work at Nestlé but was lining up to get tested because he's concerned about some transport companies at stockyards not following the proper guidelines.
I've only really been at home, to the supermarket and the bottle shop, but I think it's important that we get tested anyway.
- Blayney resident David Willard
"You don't really know where they've been and a lot of them don't sign on at all," he said.
Blayney resident David Willard wasn't concerned about catching the virus, but wanted to do the right thing.
"I've only really been at home, to the supermarket and the bottle shop, but I think it's important that we get tested anyway."
