While it's not going to be easy to track down the sides in front of them, the squad has already taken plenty of positives out of the nine-round cameo that's brought two wins, six losses, and after Saturday afternoon, a 39-all draw.
Hurricanes entered the final term against two blues down five points, but a late rally allowed them to take home a share of the spoils, much to the delight of the coach.
"I thought it was a great comeback and definitely the best quarter of the four," Sharpe said.
"They played well together and shifted the ball well."
After Hawks Royals won the first game at PCYC, Hurricanes now sit seven points away from finals contention, which makes it tough from here on in.
"It's been our aim to make the top four... there's no question about that," he said.
"It's a work-in-progress. We're getting closer, but we're not quite there yet. We need to start putting the same effort into every quarter instead of just one.
"It'd make the old coach a bit happier."
Effort for 60 minutes is one of the side's goals, but there's other facets of play that Alan hopes to Sharpen up.
"Definitely in the transition, we've struggled a bit there," he said.
"I've been keeping some brutal stats on the girls this year and I've been counting errors too. If we can reduce our errors by 50 per cent, we're right in every game."
While Hurricanes and Hawks Marvasti Security did battle, Orange City scored a 55-42 win over contenders Life Studio, the victory shaping as their ninth in-a-row.
The last game on the card saw OHS Hornets put together a convincing win over Kinross' second side.
Hurricanes face another winnable opponent next round in Kinross' first side, before a round 11 litmus test against Hornets.
