The news hardly comes as a surprise as heavy rain and even snow was forecasted for the weekend, adding to what was already a wet week for grounds to endure.

Group 10 president Linore Zamparini says both the semi-final eliminator, and the grand-final, will be played a week later than scheduled.

"Everyone's OK with it," he said.

"It's obviously a pretty bad day and it looked pretty crook this morning."

This puts the CYMS-Hawks derby in danger of being canned, but Zamparini's confident the blockbuster will go ahead.

"Hopefully that one is right to be played, but it all comes back to the weather and what the council decides," he said.

"We've got Pat's traveling to Mudgee today, so that will be played."

Zamparini also spoke about the Mid-West grand final set to be played on July 31, indicating CSU has chosen to host it at the university grounds, as opposed to Carrington Park.

"They won the right to host it," he said.

"They're going to have the correct measures in place with fencing, security and a ground manager."

In 2020, the Mungoes qualified for the finale but decided to have the game played at Carrington Park, a decision that might have changed the dynamic of the contest as they fell to Oberon.

Cancelled sports at Orange include junior rugby league and soccer and Western Premier League men's soccer.
