Earlier this week, a forum was held by Orange City Council to discuss ideas about the revamp of the south end of the street, between Summer and Kite streets.
Owner of the Century 21 building, Paul Cox, was attended the meeting and said: "We feel that the street could probably become the food street of Orange.
"Because the fact there's already a sample of restaurants there. It's already heading in that direction and perhaps that will become a bit more of a theme in our street.
"I think when you own a commercial building, passing trade or traffic is what you're after, so improving the street will hopefully improve that and entice people to come up there."
Andrew Saunders is the building owner and business operator of Saunders & Staniforth Valuers.
He wants to see more parking as part of the upgrade.
"We discussed parking challenges and parking habits in terms of day time versus night time," he said.
"The possibility on how that may work if there was a centralised multi-story car park nearby and how that would work with more short term parking. So there's a real mixed challenge on how to make both work.
"I think visually an enhancement of eateries, footpath seating, improved landscaping and one of the things that was discussed was ambient lighting, whether it's in the trees or something that's more of an enhanced at the base of trees."
Orange Mayor Reg Kidd said there were some great ideas put forward.
"Lords Place is one of the key mixed commercial precincts in Orange, which links to our civic precinct and recreational facilities," he added.
"Walkability, making our CBD more attractive so more people spend more time there, and exploring ways to increase the number of people living and working in the CBD are key Future City themes
The design of Lords Place between Summer and Kite streets is based on the Future City framework adopted by Council following a significant consultation process with the community and urban designers SJB.
Orange City Council's Employment and Economic Development Policy Committee Chair Cr Tony Mileto said the next step is coming up with a detailed concept design for the block of Lords Place south of Summer Street.
"We want to hear what you like about Lords Place now and what Lords Place should be like in the future," he said.
"It's important that the Council listens to the community to get the best design possible. The simplest way to do that is to go online and visit the YourSay Orange."
