The green and golds entered the 2021 Premier League Hockey not knowing what to expect, but after a hard-fought campaign, the young side has qualified for the post-season.
The girls will travel to Bathurst on Saturday for a tilt with St Pat's, the contest acting as a final-round rematch in which CYMS fell 2-1 to the blue and whites.
And while skipper Maddie Smith is happy to admit her troops are underdogs heading into the game, there's still reason for optimism.
"We have the tendency to leak early goals but if we can put a 60-minute performance in, I think we're a good chance," she said.
"I'm confident going into tomorrow. We can definitely give them a run for their money."
A tell-tale sign of a young team is lack of focus for the full duration and against St Pat's, that's not something CYMS can afford to do.
"They've got a lot of experience and they always know where each other is going to be," she said.
"They can score goals... we've certainly got respect for them. It's been a good battle with them in these last few years."
The elimination finals contest will kick-off at 3.20pm
Orange United will play at Lithgow at the same time as they look to qualify for the grand final.
