The Oriana has been forced to postpone its annual firepit garden party in response to the state's worsening COVID situation as well as this weekend's forecast for snow.

While there have been no confirmed cases of the virus in Orange, general manager Kelly Ferguson said the decision was partly motivated by precaution.
"Just with the general atmosphere of people travelling in the area [we thought] it was better to be safe than sorry," she explained.
"We haven't had any influx of Sydney visitors, they've all been fairly responsible, actually.
"When they do want to come we have to confirm that they're essential travellers before we will accept [their booking]."
Fortunately, the Oriana hopes that the firepit garden party will only need to be postponed for a month - with the restaurant and hotel currently looking at potential dates in mid-August.
